Health & Fitness Workshop Descriptions |
Jenny's Famous Lunchbox
Every day, Jenny packs her six-pack cooler with healthy meals and snacks for the day. She devotes only two hours per week to preparation (plus shopping time). Would you like to learn tons of easy tricks to streamline the process of having healthy foods ready to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for the entire week with just two hours of prep time? |
Full Body Strength in 15 Minutes
Learn a full body strength training workout that you can perform in just 15 minutes. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of all forms of strength training: machines, free weights, balls, resist-a-bands and functional exercises. Understand how to put together the workout that works for you. A workout will be taught that requires no equipment, other than your body. Recent research suggests just 15-20 minutes of strength training 3 times per week can build and maintain muscle mass, which is important for injury prevention, decreases in body fat, and keeping the metabolism cranking. Bring mat or blanket to use for floor exercises. |
Posture 101
Learn the basics of proper alignment and how to practice good postural habits. What can you do each day at work or at home? Learn how to identify muscle weaknesses and imbalances. Learn simple exercises to do anywhere to help "realign" yourself for ultimate spine function. Learn how core strength, previous injuries, years of good and bad habits, and even genetic differences play a part in what your body has learned. Bring mat or blanket to use for floor exercises |
Winning at Losing™
(successful weight loss management)
Receive detailed information on what you will need to address for successful weight management. Topics covered will include diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, motivation, goal setting, and support. Weight loss is not likely to be successful and maintainable without attention to all of the above issues. Learn concise and easy to follow steps to serve as your roadmap to success. This workshop will serve as an opportunity for anyone interested in ongoing weight management instruction and support to come together as a group.
